Halloween has come and gone, but pounds of sugar, in the form of candy and other sweet treats, are now residing in homes all around the country. How times have changed. Not so very long ago sugar was a scarce and pricey commodity. Today, it’s so plentiful and cheap it has become ubiquitous, showing up in everything from peanut butter to tomato sauce.
